Welcome~ Annyeong Haseyo!
This is a one-page personal site of mine which contains some useful links and resources created or used during my research in WISE Research Lab Ajou University, South Korea
About Me
I was born as Mikael Fernandus Simalango, some years ago. I completed my bachelor in electrical engineering from Institute of Technology Bandung, Indonesia. Although I conferred degree in electrical engineering, I also have passion in computing, programming, especially the distributed aspect, web and related things, maths, stochastic process, software engineering, embedded system, and many more to mention which are related to computer science. That's one of the reasons why I came to Korea to pursue my master degree in Ajou University, South Korea.
I have conferred my master degree in Computer Engineering which turns me into the first alumni of WISE Research Lab. These days, I spend my days researching on hot topics in computing field especially the cloud computing with Prof. Sangyoon Oh who was also my thesis advisor. At the same time, I also prepare myself to get back to the industry with applicable ideas and implementations of technology while keeping the opportunities to advance my education open.
When I am away from the research realm, I usually indulge myself in music, photography, sports, or blogging. Sometimes I also think about conquering the world, but I haven't contrived a plan that is smarter than Pinky and The Brain's.
About WISE Research Lab
WISE is an abbreviation for Web Infrastructure and Software Enhancement. This is a new lab established in Ajou University focusing on research on web systems (especially infrastructure, standards, semantics, performance, implementations, and integration) and also hot topics in computing fields. These days, WISE also has interests on distributed computing, grid computing, SOA, and low latency computing. We are conducting researches and we hope to contribute in the fields by publishing our papers and sharing our research finding.
